Omesi releases smooth new LP “Where do we go?”.

OMESI

Detroit-born, Boston-based artist Omesi (real name Omesi Abulu) has just unveiled his latest album Where Do We Go?, released November 21, 2025 via DAV Records / Santa Anna. The 13-track collection spans 36 minutes and arrives at a pivotal moment in his career.

A Smooth Departure from His Previous Work

Known for blending melodic rap rhythms with dreamy, experimental production, Omesi steps into a more relaxed, fluid sound with Where Do We Go?. The project emphasizes smooth instrumentation, warm ambient textures, and his signature melodic voice, all pointing to an artist comfortable both with introspection and subtle groove.

Omesi’s track record includes a steady stream of singles and EPs, MONAMI being his most recent before this album.   On this new album, listeners will notice rich production with understated instrumentation, favouring mood and flow over hard drums, a sense of movement: the title asks the question of “where do we go?” and the album carries that feeling in its pacing and structure, and continuity of Omesi’s style, rooted in melodic hip-hop and R&B, but with a refined, mature edge.

While he remains rooted in his melange of rap and R&B, Omesi appears to lean into emotional subtlety and sonic cohesion more than ever. The album’s smoother textures make it ideal for late-night listening, a shift from harder-edged rap into more atmospheric territory. Having built a steady presence, this album could help position him beyond underground circles into broader notice.

With Where Do We Go?, Omesi invites listeners into a space of calm yet compelling reflection, an album that proves he’s capable not just of catchy singles, but of crafting a full body of work that lingers.
