Redveil announces brand new album “sankofa”.
Blondshell returns with Another Picture, the deluxe edition of her acclaimed album If You Asked for a Picture. Featuring a brand-new track, Berlin TV Tower, and five reimagined versions of album highlights with collaborators like Gigi Perez, John Glacier, and Conor Oberst, the project offers a deeper, more expansive look into her evolving indie-rock universe.
REDVEIL
Maryland-born rapper, songwriter, and producer redveil is gearing up to release his fourth studio album, sankofa, on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
Despite his youth (he’s just 21) redveil has already earned serious attention for his fully self-produced work. sankofa is the next chapter of an already extremely impressive catalogue. His lead single Lone Star (featuring Carolyn Malachi) introduces the album’s sonic palette: dreamy Rhodes pianos, soulful backing vocals, and a melodic approach that blurs the line between rapping and singing.
The title itself, sankofa, a Ghanaian proverb meaning “go back and get it”, signals the album’s intent: a look back at roots and traditions to chart a path forward.
redveil’s previous full-length, Learn 2 Swim (2022), established him as a distinct voice rooted in the DMV region with jazz-influenced hip-hop production.
With sankofa, he appears poised to expand his sonic horizons while retaining that self-produced authenticity. This could be a breakthrough moment, the kind that turns critical buzz into broader mainstream recognition.

For our 25th week of under the radar, we put the spotlight on five new artists that you should (definitely) pay really close attention to.
Lafleyne (France)
Lafleyne is a French singer, songwriter, and producer whose intimate blend of R&B, pop, and jazz marks her as a rising voice in the francophone music scene. Originating from a family with Malagasy roots, she began creating music in her bedroom and released her debut self-produced single Nana in 2020. Since then, tracks like Chéri (feat. Angie) and her EP Gold Digger (2024) have showcased her poignant lyrics and warm, soulful voice. Known for her delicate production, strong sense of self-expression and refusal to rely on Auto-Tune, Lafleyne continues to carve out a space of resilience and emotional honesty in French R&B.
James Savage (USA)
James Savage is a Louisville‑based R&B artist whose smooth vocals and soul‑baring lyrics are drawing attention in the modern scene. Born in Virginia and raised in Kentucky, he blends gospel roots with influences like Bryson Tiller and Stevie Wonder, crafting songs that feel deeply personal and emotionally raw. His recent singles, including On Time, Look At Me, and Better, demonstrate his growing versatility and commitment to honest storytelling in contemporary R&B.
Merna (Palestine/Canada)
Born Merna Bishouty and formerly known by the stage name Ayah, Merna is a Palestinian-Canadian singer, songwriter and producer based in Toronto. Her early years were deeply shaped by mobility: born in Jordan and raised between the Middle East, Seattle and eventually Canada, she absorbed a wide array of musical influences and started performing as a child. Under the name Ayah, she collaborated with producers including DJ Jazzy Jeff and released the single Xmas Time, labelled by NPR as a “modern soulful approach” to the holiday standard. In 2015, she re-launched her solo career under her birth name Merna with the album The Calling, a record noted for its deeply personal perspective and blends of Arab, African and Western soul rhythms. She released her latest project, Ours to keep, led by the single Magic, in september 2025. Beyond her own artistry, Merna has an established track record as a songwriter and producer, writing for major artists across R&B, hip-hop and pop. Her music stands out for its emotional depth, cultural breadth and fusion of styles, making her a distinctive voice in contemporary soul with an international outlook.
JOA (Norway)
JOA is a 20‑year‑old artist from Oslo whose debut single I Don’t Want Nobody But Your Body (released September 13, 2024) marked her arrival with raw emotional intensity. The piano‑led track deals with heartbreak and the refusal to let go, a vulnerable yet universally resonant theme. Blending folk and pop elements, JOA delivers an intimate vocal performance that confirms she’s a fresh voice worth watching in 2025.
Alec Ferris (USA)
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and producer Alec Ferris has quietly built a reputation for emotive electronic-inflected tracks that blend lush vocals with textured soundscapes. His breakout single Didn’t Even Notice (from the When Summer Comes EP) is fast approaching one million streams on Spotify, marking a milestone in his rising career. With a catalog that spans from intimate ballads to vibrant synth-driven moods, starting with earlier releases such as Only Love (2018) and evolving into his more recent work, Ferris continues to prove himself as a quietly powerful voice in today’s independent electronic and alternative scene.

Blondshell, the indie-rock force also known as Sabrina Teitelbaum, unveils Another Picture, the deluxe companion to her 2024 album If You Asked for a Picture. Released today, November 14th, the project expands her acclaimed record with new collaborations, reinterpretations, and a long-awaited original track.
A deluxe edition with new depth and new voices.
Another Picture isn’t just a repackage, it’s a reimagining. The project introduces an entirely new song, Berlin TV Tower, a fan-favorite from her recent live shows. Alongside it comes a series of remixed and reinterpreted tracks featuring artists who have shaped Blondshell’s own musical journey.
The deluxe includes:
Arms (with Gigi Perez) - a stripped-down, intimate version that highlights both artists’ emotional nuance.
T&A (with John Glacier) - a darker, more atmospheric rework.
Covers by respected peers, including Samia (23’s a Baby), Folk Bitch Trio (Change), and Conor Oberst (Event of a Fire).
A live version of Thumbtack recorded for Vevo.
Each contribution reframes Blondshell’s original compositions through fresh interpretations, creating a rich ecosystem around her songwriting.
A collaborative vision.
Blondshell describes Another Picture as a deeply meaningful project built with artists she has long admired. The deluxe format becomes a space for conversation, between styles, voices, and emotional perspectives, rather than a simple add-on. The result feels communal, while still rooted in her own introspective, lyrically sharp universe.
It expands the narrative of the original album rather than just extending it. It showcases creative reinterpretations, offering new emotional angles on familiar tracks. It affirms Blondshell’s artistic maturity, highlighting her ability to curate and collaborate with intention.
With Another Picture, Blondshell doesn’t merely revisit If You Asked for a Picture, she reframes it, enriches it, and invites listeners into a deeper, more layered version of her world.

BLK Odyssy drops brand new LP “Mood Control”.
The Austin based rapper is back with his fourth studio project, marking a new era of sound and ambition.
BLK ODYSSY
This Friday, November 7th, BLK Odyssy unveiled his brand-new 10-track project, Mood Control, a bold evolution for the Houston-based artist who continues to blur the lines between R&B, funk, rock, and rap.
Originally from New Jersey, BLK Odyssy first emerged as a collective, before crystallizing around a singular artistic vision that has steadily grown in depth and ambition. Now signed to Empire, he’s become one of the most intriguing voices of the modern soul-rap movement, crafting immersive worlds that balance social commentary, personal narrative, and sonic experimentation.
Each BLK Odyssy project has marked a distinct phase of artistic exploration. His 2021 debut, BLK Vintage, introduced him as a storyteller rooted in rap and jazz influences, weaving conscious narratives around identity, trauma, and resilience. With Diamonds & Freaks (2023), he dove deeper into R&B, soul, and funk, fusing sensual grooves with cinematic arrangements.
Then came 1-800 Fantasy, a sonic trip through unrequited love, driven by distorted guitars and rock-inspired textures, pushing his artistry into even more unexpected directions. His 2024 COLORS performance of “Phase,” one of the project’s standout tracks, as well as his Tiny Desk performance in January of that same year, solidified his reputation as a live performer capable of channeling raw emotion through minimalist setups.
Following his international tour in 2024, with stops in Paris, London, and Barcelona, BLK Odyssy’s global presence has continued to expand. His performances blend vulnerability and power, transforming stages into intimate storytelling spaces, a testament to the universality of his message and sound.
With Mood Control, the Pleinfeld native embraces yet another transformation, one that feels both introspective and expansive. The project dives into themes of emotional balance, self-reflection, and desire, all carried by bold distorted production and intricate vocal layering. It’s less about defining a genre, and more about mastering the art of atmosphere.
