NXT UP: SABRI
SABRI
With her newly released EP What I Feel Now, Amsterdam-based singer SABRI opens a new chapter, one that feels more intimate, self-assured, and emotionally revealing than ever before.
Born in Amsterdam to a Moroccan father and Algerian mother, SABRI carries a dual heritage that subtly shapes her sound: a mix of soulful depth, R&B warmth, and melodic vulnerability. Her music feels like a bridge between worlds, both cultural and emotional, where introspection meets elegance, and heartbreak finds beauty.
SABRI first drew attention with her debut project Actually, I Can (2022), an album that introduced her as a powerful storyteller unafraid to expose her emotions. Tracks like Wish the Love Never Died resonated deeply within R&B circles, establishing her as one of the most promising voices in Europe’s new wave of soul artists. Her artistry has always been about balance, between light and melancholy, confidence and fragility.
Her talent didn’t go unnoticed. Back in 2019, Dutch radio station 3FM named her 3FM Talent, recognizing her potential long before the rest of the scene caught on. In 2024, she joined the Empire roster, a significant step for an artist whose music now carries an increasingly global resonance, while staying true to her roots.
The newest EP’s first lead single, Sold Myself for Love, offers a haunting preview of what was to come. Premiered through her breathtaking COLORS performance in October, the song highlights her full vocal range: smooth, vulnerable, and piercingly honest. Over a delicate, almost ethereal production, SABRI explores the emotional cost of love and self-sacrifice. The result is a melancholic yet graceful track, suspended somewhere between confession and liberation.
What I Feel Now feels like a colorless statement, not just of who SABRI is as an artist, but of where she stands as a woman navigating emotion, ambition, and identity. Each note seems to carry a sense of quiet resilience, the kind that turns personal pain into art. A project exclusively produced by Empire’s other signee, and rap storytelling extraordinaire BLK Odyssy.
As she begins a fresh new chapter, SABRI stands at the intersection of introspection and empowerment. Her journey, from Amsterdam’s underground scene to international recognition, reflects a new generation of artists redefining what R&B and soul can sound like in Europe today: deeply personal, culturally rooted, and sonically fearless.
What I Feel Now is a well-rounded 6-track project that captures that same duality: strength and vulnerability, control and surrender: the essence of Sabri’s artistry.
