NXT UP: Zinadelphia

ZINADELPHIA

Few emerging voices capture the magic of timeless soul quite like Zinadelphia. The Philadelphia-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist bridges eras and genres with rare ease, fusing neo-soul, jazz, funk, and folk into something that feels both familiar and strikingly new. Her name, a blend of Zina and Philadelphia, says it all: deeply personal yet rooted in a musical lineage that shaped generations before her.

Zinadelphia first caught attention through intimate covers posted on TikTok and Instagram, stripped-down, soulful performances that revealed a voice equal parts warmth and precision. It didn’t take long before her originals began circulating in the same way, earning her a devoted audience drawn to her effortless blend of retro aesthetics and modern songwriting.

Her 2022 single Mirrorball marked a turning point, described by Earmilk as “an ode to 60s lounge soul royalty.” A year later came her debut EP, Lucky (2023), a collection that further established her unique tone: nostalgic yet unafraid to experiment.

In 2024, Zinadelphia released The Magazine, a project she calls “the most me I’ve ever been.”, led by the unbelievably catchy single Love over Glory. The record merges the glamour of old Hollywood and disco with Western imagery and introspective lyricism, an aesthetic she defines as “maximalist”. The result is cinematic, sensual, and utterly distinctive.

Her sound, while undeniably rooted in the past, never feels like imitation. Vintage horns, lush harmonies, and storytelling melodies meet contemporary emotion, a balance that sets her apart in today’s crowded soul landscape.

Following her signing with Mother Artists in 2024, Zinadelphia entered a new phase of her career, performing across the U.S. and Europe and releasing new singles throughout 2025, including The Seamstress and Call Up Nancy. Each release expands her palette, reaffirming her position as one of the most intriguing voices to emerge from Philadelphia’s vibrant scene.

Zinadelphia stands at the intersection of nostalgia and innovation, a reminder that soul music isn’t a genre, but a language. Through her honesty, flair, and fearless blend of influences, she’s building a world entirely her own, one that invites you not just to listen, but to feel.
