Steve Ibrahim announces debut solo EP “L’oiseau bleu”.

STEVE IBRAHIM

After a breakout solo year in 2025, Paris-native R&B artist Steve Ibrahim has announced the launch of his first solo project, an EP named L’OISEAU BLEU, set to be released on January 30th. The title of the project has its fair share of deep meaning behind it ; L’oiseau bleu (translated to “The blue bird’), is the name of a Parisian café Steve remembers waiting for his father along with his older brother.

Born Steve Yameogo, Ibrahim is a multifaceted artist, bassist, singer, and composer, whose music blends groove, restraint, and emotional purpose. Deeply shaped by his gospel roots, Ibrahim’s sound fuses the warmth of soul and R&B with the spiritual depth of sacred music, resulting in songs that feel both intimate and universally resonant.

His musical journey began in church, where he first encountered the power of collective performance and the emotional weight carried by melody and harmony. These early experiences laid the foundation for an artistic identity rooted in authenticity, generosity, and a quiet search for truth through sound. Over time, his approach evolved into something deeply personal, music that listens as much as it speaks.

Ever since going solo, after a few years alongside his childhood friend Grace forming the duo Yaïr, Steve has been quite active. Early releases such as Le bleu du ciel, La marée, and Le mur du salon quickly gained national attention, showcasing a minimalist aesthetic driven by soft instrumentation, gentle vocals, and deeply personal storytelling. These songs invite listeners into a space of emotional reflection, where silence and nuance are just as meaningful as melody.

In autumn 2025, Steve Ibrahim signaled a new phase with the release of On dansera encore, hinting at artistic growth and an expanding sonic palette. His rising profile has been matched by an increasing live presence, including an announced performance at La Boule Noire in Paris on December 1st, 2025, a milestone venue that suggests his once-intimate beginnings are steadily opening onto a broader stage.

This trajectory now leads to his first solo EP, L’OISEAU BLEU, set for release on January 30. For listeners drawn to music that feels like a whispered conversation in a dimly lit room, honest, textured, and unafraid to breathe, Steve Ibrahim offers a singular voice. His blend of intimate folk and modern R&B positions him as a refreshing and deeply human presence in contemporary Francophone music, one that connects as much through silence as through sound.
