redveil delivers reflective COLORS performance.

REDVEIL

redveil continues to affirm his place among the most compelling voices of his generation with a powerful new COLORS performance of pray 4 me, a standout track taken from his latest album sankofa. Stripped of distractions and presented in COLORS’ signature minimalist format, the performance places full focus on redveil’s voice, lyrics, and emotional weight-revealing an artist in complete command of his craft.

Raised in Maryland and entirely self-produced from an early age, redveil has always operated outside traditional industry timelines. After first gaining attention as a teenage prodigy, his music has steadily matured into something more expansive and reflective. sankofa marks a significant turning point in that journey: a project rooted in memory, growth, and self-examination, where jazz-inflected production, live instrumentation, and layered arrangements support deeply personal storytelling.

On pray 4 me, redveil leans into vulnerability with striking clarity. The track unfolds like an open confession-grappling with pressure, expectations, and the weight of self-awareness-while maintaining a quiet spiritual undertone. In the COLORS setting, every line lands heavier: no effects, no excess, just presence. His delivery balances restraint and urgency, capturing the tension between internal struggle and the desire for grace.

This COLORS performance also highlights redveil’s evolution as a performer. Gone is any trace of novelty attached to youth; instead, we see an artist grounded, intentional, and emotionally precise. His command of silence, pacing, and breath reinforces the song’s themes, turning the performance into an intimate exchange rather than a spectacle.

With Blushing at the BP, she continues this trajectory while injecting a fresh creative spark: the single pairs her signature soulful tone with an intimate, reflective narrative that feels like a snapshot of complex emotion, part romantic, part nostalgic, and wholly immersive.

What stands out about Blushing at the BP is how effortlessly Len Blake balances lyricism with mood. Her voice, soft yet expressive, layered with subtle warmth, carries the song through moments of softness and intensity, inviting listeners into a textured world of feeling. The production, delicate yet resonant, complements her delivery without overwhelming it, suggesting a maturity in both arrangement and musical restraint.

Blake’s artistry has always thrived on the spaces between genres, drawing on jazz, neo-soul, R&B and pop while resisting easy categorization, and Blushing at the BP only reinforces that strength. This new single doesn’t just continue her catalogue: it signals an artist increasingly confident in her identity and capable of crafting songs that linger long after they end.

As she further expands her profile in 2026, this release marks a strong artistic statement and a promising springboard toward what’s next.

Temples (UK).

Temples are a British psychedelic rock band known for their lush soundscapes, swirling melodies, and unmistakable retro-modern aesthetic. Emerging from the UK indie scene in the early 2010s, they quickly stood out with their kaleidoscopic blend of psych-pop, baroque influences, and hypnotic grooves. Across their discography, Temples have refined a sound that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Their music thrives on atmosphere and detail, cementing their status as one of the defining acts of contemporary psychedelic rock.

Leonie (France).

At just 20 years old, Leonie is emerging as a powerful new voice in French neo-soul, blending R&B and soul into a warm, mystical, and deeply personal universe. Her track Best Mistake, built around a subtle sample of Erykah Badu’s Didn’t Cha Know, highlights her ability to honor classic influences while shaping a modern sound. After the release of her debut single Swag Energy in 2022, she independently dropped her first EP Divine Energy in 2023, followed in 2025 by Divine Energy Deluxe, adding seven new tracks to the project. GR!DR (France).

When I met Brice back in 2019, he was nothing more than a (very) talented young producer with endless ambitions. Fast forward to 2025, and GR!DR, as he’s now known, has become one of the fastest rising electro artists in France. GR!DR put his name on the map with bangers like TAKETHAT (which was offered a wonderful remix with UK rapper Elcee The Alchimist), and Bleeding Out, a collaborative single with two other French producers in Theobuntu and Laust. An amazing journey that took him all the way to Tomorrowland that same year, in what already feels like a statement from a young man who seems to be destined for greatness.

Adrian Daniel set to release new EP on friday.

Brooklyn-born Adrian Daniel, a rising force in alternative R&B, has announced his new EP Wolf Pack, dropping this Friday. Building on projects like FLAWD and Requiem, Wolf Pack is set to deepens his signature sound, intimate, modern, and atmospheric.

ADRIAN DANIEL - Courtesy of Ryan Jay

Adrian Daniel, the Brooklyn-born singer, songwriter, and multi-disciplinary artist, has steadily built one of the most distinct voices in alternative R&B since emerging in the early 2010s. Born in 1990 and raised in East Flatbush/Brownsville, he was immersed in music from an early age, his godfather introduced him to the vibraphone, and his background as a dancer shaped his sense of rhythm and stage presence. He began writing and performing songs seriously after early encouragement from his family, gradually refining a sound that fuses neo-soul, R&B, rock, funk, and psychedelic influences.

His discography marks a clear evolution: the 2014 EP FKKKING HIGH laid the groundwork, followed by his debut full-length Disillusions (2016), which combined soulful melodies with alt-R&B experimentation. FLAWD (2018) explored vulnerability and introspection, while Nightwolf (2020) expanded his atmospheric, emotionally charged soundscapes. His 2022 project Requiem continued this trajectory, solidifying his voice as both introspective and genre-blending. Along the way, Adrian has released singles and collaborated with other artists, continually expanding his sonic palette and creative vision.

This Friday, he returns with the new EP Wolf Pack, a project that promesses to build on his established universe. Rather than reinventing his sound, the EP is set to blend textured vocals, cinematic arrangements, and introspective songwriting.

Adrian Daniel’s journey is a testament to independent artistry in modern R&B: a careful balance of emotion, groove, and authenticity, continuously evolving while remaining true to his roots. With Wolf Pack, he affirms his place as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary soul and alt-R&B. Mark your calendars!

Girl Scout (Sweden).

Girl Scout is a four-piece indie/alternative band from Stockholm whose members met studying jazz, then swapped standards for fuzzy guitars and restless energy. Their sound, rooted in garage rock, 90s-inspired alt-rock and jangly guitar pop, mixes raw emotion with catchy hooks. Since their 2023 debut with the EPs Real Life Human Garbage and Granny Music, they’ve gained buzz for songs like Monster, Boy In Blue or I Just Needed You To Know. Their upcoming first full-length album Brink (2026) promises a bigger, more vibrant canvas. Girl Scout is precisely the kind of bright, unpolished indie voice that feels fresh and urgent in today’s rock scene.

Sol ChYld (USA).

Sol ChYld, born and raised in Camden, New Jersey, is a dynamic rapper and singer whose work blends sharp lyricism, soulful grooves and razor-sharp honesty. Since her 2019 debut For the Sol, she has carved her path independently, mixing jazz-inflected beats, conscious storytelling and emotional depth. Her 2025 album ReBirth. Theory marks a turning point, with mature reflections on growth, identity and resilience, delivered over lush, genre-blurring production. Whether she’s rhyming about struggle or singing about healing, Sol ChYld always sounds real, a powerful voice in today’s underground hip-hop/neo-soul scene.

Jalen Chords is a rising R&B artist from Hampton, Virginia, now based in LA, mixing smooth melodies, soulful vocals and emotional storytelling. With his 2025 project The Playlist, he delivers intimate, heartfelt tracks like signs (sportmode) and good denim (which sounds straight out of the 2000s) that explore love, longing and self-reflection with a modern vibe. His voice glides between warm falsetto and gentle croon, grounding contemporary beats in genuine sentiment. Jalen’s music feels like late-night drives under neon lights, personal, immersive, and honest. Keep an ear on him: this is just the beginning of a promising journey in today’s R&B scene.

New music friday - November 28th.

A quieter release week than usual, but not without a few gems. With several standout EPs and fresh singles, many from rising French talents, this Friday may be discreet, yet it still offers plenty to discover.

STELLA HENNEN

This week’s new releases arrive with a quieter energy than usual, a relatively discreet Friday, yet one marked by a handful of notable drops. A couple of solid EPs and a selection of singles stood out, with French artists taking up a surprisingly large share of the spotlight. The week may not have been packed, but it still delivered its share of gems worth digging into. Let’s take a look at the highlights.

Talia Rae releases dark cinematic new record Blue.

London-based singer Talia Rae unveils a new cinematic and atmospheric direction with her latest single Blue, expanding beyond her signature moody, soulful pop. The track blends introspective songwriting with rich, evocative textures, creating a film-like emotional landscape. A former student of the Sylvia Young Theatre School, Talia Rae has long embraced vulnerability and authenticity across releases like Not A Heartbreak and Rocket Woman. With Blue, she leans even further into her “auditory cinema” aesthetic, showing a growing confidence in her artistic identity and solidifying herself as an artist unafraid to explore depth, nuance, and emotional shadows.

Soane drops brand new EP She Was.

French-Moroccan artist Soane returns with her latest project, the EP She Was, announced alongside the hypnotic single Fountains. The track, and the EP as a whole, sees her embracing sensual alt-R&B, blending Parisian polish with raw emotional depth.

Building on earlier successes like Teach Me How to Touch Me and recent singles such as Bluer Skies, Soane has steadily carved out a space defined by melancholic minimalism and textured atmospheres.

With She Was, she delivers a body of work that feels crafted for the late-night, introspective moments: atmospheric, layered, intimate. For fans of alt-R&B and soul tinged with emotion and sophistication, this EP confirms Soane as an artist to watch very closely in years to come.

Celyane remains consistent with new record Dans le mille.

Rising French artist Celyane drops her new single Dans le mille, the fourth this year.

Celyane, a 24-year-old soul and R&B singer from the Paris region, has built momentum over the past years with a string of records blending smooth vocals, Afro-Caribbean influences, and contemporary R&B grooves.

With Dans le mille, she aims to assert her evolving artistic identity: the single mixes an acoustic guitar, melody, and lyrical sensibility, ingredients that have already defined her previous works. For listeners following the rise of new French voices in R&B and soul, this one feels like a “must-lstn.”

A fairly quiet friday.

After the super busy fridays we were blessed with this month, we’ll be able to chill a little more this weekend with only a few other notable releases, mainly singles from Kÿfy, ELIZA or 9DAYS, as well as a brand new EP from Stella Hennen.

Talia Rae drops “Blue”, a cinematic and dark new record.

With her new single Blue, rising artist Talia Rae unveils one of her most cinematic and emotionally charged work to date. Blending haunting vocals with atmospheric production, she invites listeners into a world where melancholy becomes visual and sound feels like a movie.

TALIA RAE - Courtesy of Ronan Park

London-based singer-songwriter Talia Rae has built a reputation for moody, soulful pop with emotional depth and raw honesty. With Blue, she adds a new dimension, a cinematic, atmospheric direction that showcases her evolving artistry.

Through the song, Talia Rae blends introspective songwriting and a richly textured sonic palette, creating a mood that’s at once melancholic and visually evocative, like the soundtrack of a film scene, rather than a typical soul single. The haunting title, simple yet loaded, suggests themes of longing, introspection, or emotional turbulence, leaving interpretation open to the listener’s experience.

Talia Rae draws on a background steeped in theatre and emotion: originally from Essex, she studied at the prestigious school Sylvia Young Theatre School before focusing on music. Her work, from early songs like Not A Heartbreak to Rocket Woman and now Blue, has always embraced a sense of vulnerability and authenticity.

Previous releases have already shown her ambition to craft “auditory cinema”: Rocket Woman, for example, was praised for its hypnotic piano hooks, cinematic strings, and the way her voice ranged from fragile whispers to powerful belts, a kind of sonic journey that feels cinematic and immersive. With Blue, she seems to lean even deeper into that immersive, emotionally-charged style.

Her trajectory shows an artist increasingly confident in her voice, her themes, and her aesthetic. This latest single could help cement her identity as more than “rising pop soul”: an artist unafraid to explore shadows, depth, and subtle emotional landscapes.

Meet Exp., the dutch annual collaborative project aiming to connect independent artists.

Exp. Share Records, the Amsterdam-based creative project founded by Kamae and Bertholet, has built a unique reputation in the music world by transforming annual writing retreats into complete collaborative albums. From the hills of Languedoc to the countryside of Italy, the label brings together artists from across the globe for intense, week-long creation sessions that blend community, spontaneity and artistic authenticity.

EXP.

Imagine if you could bring together emerging artists from around the globe and have them work together on a full length project. That is exactly what Exp. was created for. A vision deeply rooted in human authenticity in art, building community through intense, collaborative creation.

Exp. is not exactly what you would call a “collective” in the traditional sense of a composers’ collective, but rather an annual project and record label based in Amsterdam, known as Exp. Share Records. The label was co-founded by Dutch producers Kamae and Bertholet.

A unique identity.

A key part of Exp.’s identity is its annual writing camp: each year, they invite a group of international, independent artists to retreat in a dedicated location and create an entire album in about a week. For instance, in 2025 the camp took place from March 17 to March 22 in a large country house in the hills of southern France, with travel, accommodation, and food fully covered by the label. During the camp, all recording, production, and creative work happened on site, no stems are exchanged afterwards, instead, the album is completed during the week and then mixed, mastered, and distributed later in the year.

This year, the collective expanded once again with the arrival of BINA., GINGE (who we’ve mentioned before on this website), Frsh Waters, JAY MALAKHI, Maydien, Meron T, Mitchell Yard, Monét, SAMSON and Samwyse at the writing camp. The album that emerged from this session is said to be “more dynamic, daring, and stylistically diverse than previous releases”.

The origin story.

On the musical side, Kamae and Bertholet have released collaborative projects under the Exp. label. Notably, the Empty Spaces EP (2022) by Bertholet & Sebastian Kamae features four tracks in the R&B/soul vein and was published on Exp. Share Records. There is also the single Too Often (feat. Nakeyo) from April 2022, again under their label. On SoundCloud, the Empty Spaces EP is detailed: it includes vocals by Joshua J, Thierry Ganz, B. Fisher & Nakeyo; guitar by Niké Laos; strings by Isabel Pieterse.

What’s Next?

Their 2025 project It Starts With Us is set to drop on December 5th. In 2026, they plan to hold their writing camp in a new location, reflecting their international ambition and commitment to unique, inspiring environments for creation. Overall, a unique idea serving the purpose of connecting emerging voices together, and bringing a whole new meaning to collaborative projects.

Gabriel Jacoby delivers impressive COLORS performance.

Rising R&B & Rap talent Gabriel Jacoby steps into the spotlight with a striking COLORS performance of be careful, a standout track from his critically praised new EP Gutta Child. Maybe the beginning of a major ascent for Jacoby.

GABRIEL JACOBY

Emerging R&B/Rap artist Gabriel Jacoby has turned heads with his recent COLORS performance of his track be careful, showcasing his rich vocal tone and emotional honesty against a minimalist backdrop. The song comes from his freshly released EP, Gutta Child, which has already earned widespread praise for its raw vulnerability and soulful, genre-bending sound.

A debut EP that hits deep.

Released on November 14, 2025 via PULSE Records, Gutta Child is a concise but powerful project, eight tracks that weave together Jacoby’s Southern roots, introspective lyrics, and a modern blend of R&B, funk, and soul. Critics have heavily applauded the EP as a confident statement of self, combining grit and grace in service of deeply personal storytelling.

From the streets to the soul.

Jacoby doesn’t shy away from contradictions. The title Gutta Child itself points to the tension between his raw, street-savvy upbringing (“gutta”) and his more delicate, vulnerable side (“child”). Throughout the EP, he explores themes of identity, longing, love, and perseverance, all while delivering soulful vocal performances over textured, cinematic production.

His COLORS performance of be careful isn’t just a showcase of his voice, it’s a glimpse into Jacoby’s emotional world. Stripped of heavy production, the track allows him to lean into vulnerability and communicate with clarity over a smooth jazzy and harmonic beat. It’s a moment that solidifies him as a rising voice not just in R&B, but in modern soul storytelling.

With Gutta Child already making waves, Jacoby’s trajectory feels promising. His ability to combine musical skill, emotional depth, and a strong sense of identity suggests he’s only just getting started, and his COLORS appearance might be the perfect launchpad for what comes next.
